Pictures for easy read

Photosymbols are a collection of pictures for making easy read information. They are designed to be placed alongside words to make information easier to understand.

Version 3 is our latest version, now with 3000 pictures on a USB Flashdrive. There's also a brand new search feature, making it easy to find the right pictures.

People

Photosymbols show a wide range of people. With Version 3 we have introduced children as well as adults. Most of the characters are acted by our models with learning disabilities, and there is a strong emphasis on equality and diversity.

There are pictures of people on their own and in groups; doing different things like using computers, visiting the doctor, or DIY. Disabled people are shown as positive people, making choices, taking part and in control.

Things from the world around us

There are hundreds of other pictures showing things like:

• Objects, like food, clothes and leaflets.
• Places, like the post office, train station and supermarket.
• Concepts, like access, choices and speaking up.

Photosymbols can be mixed and matched to explain hundreds of different ideas in a visual way.
